We have just had all of the upper half of our house renovated by MFD Design & Build.

Mark has been an absolute legend, and has restored our faith in quality, professionalism and workmanship within the building trade after using some cowboys in the past.

We had the whole upstairs stripped right back to the brick work and re-done, new stud walls built and some walls knocked down to change the whole layout.......and it looks STUNNING! Mark arranged everything, including architects, and everything ran like clockwork. The only thing that really slowed us down was the snow, and even then, Mark was the only tradesman who made it to site, even after I told
him not to risk it!

If you are looking for any kind of building work done then I cannot recommend Mark highly enough!

We have just had our kitchen and dining room knocked through into one large open plan dining/kitchen room by MFD design and build. We have been very impressed with both the quality of the work and the professional, reliable approach taken by Mark and his team and we will definitely be using them again in future. At the planning stage Mark was really helpful and had lots of suggestions when we couldn't quite work exactly what we wanted. Mark was also helpful in suggesting which approaches would be most cost effective, which enabled us to do the most with our budget. Mark project managed the entire job and took care of everything, including meetings with the architect and dealing with all relevant paperwork (building regs, approval from leaseholder, relevant certificates, guarantees etc). When the work started, Mark and his team arrived promptly everyday when they said they would, and also tidied up after themselves each day. Mark kept us fully informed through the entire job which ran like clockwork and was finished in less than 3 weeks. Overall, Mark and his team are reliable, helpful and friendly.

The quality of workmanship is superb and we will definitely be using Mark's services again in future.

At last i`ve found someone who you can depend on to provide excellent quality work. We`ve just had some new gates and fencing made by Mark. Myself and my partner have had a number of different household projects undertaken by Mr. Mark Fotheringham of MFD Design & Build.
The first was to lay some laminate flooring to a small room in our house. We were so impressed with the quality of his work that we then got him back to restore the original floorboards within our attic and to fit a new balustrade. Following on from this we asked him to fit an entire new bathroom including removing the previous bathroom and taking the walls of the room back to brickwork.

Mark has always impressed us with the quality of his work hence why we have returned to him time and time again for further work. He has always worked with us to achieve the best possible finish to the job even when forced to work to a budget. He has always left the jobs clean and tidy at the end of each day and has been a reliable and friendly person to work with.

We have just used Mark to finish off some work in our Attic bedroom after being let down from another builder. His work is exceptional, I am very pleased with it (which is saying a lot after losing faith in builders after our last experience!). He was on time, tidy and his work is to a very high standard.

Mark has just completed a job for us, replacing custom-made skirting board in a large bay window. This job was not straightforward and other joiners we met before Mark had not been confident about what was required. Mark came across as very professional, reliable, efficient and a tidy workman. We are very pleased with the quality of his work and found him pleasant to deal with: we needed part of the job changing due to our indecisiveness (no fault of his) and he was very accommodating and did not complain at all. I wanted to write and thank for the excellent work that you have done building our fitted wardrobes and I am delighted to recommend you to my friends as well as anyone else who might be considering using your services.

From our initial contact we have been impressed at your reliability, keeping in touch with us by e-mail and phone, providing a speedy quote and being happy to discuss the plans in detail. We were very pleased with your initial drawings and that you took the time to come back and discuss them with us. One concern I always have is because of the nature of our jobs is finding trustworthy tradespeople who I can leave in the house if there is no-one in, I felt from the first that I could give you a key so you could come and go as you needed to. I was so pleased that in spite of the unexpected problems that arose with the wall that you were able to keep to the timetable so we were able to come back and sleep in our room as soon as possible - the bedsettee was not comfortable! Also last but not least you were a very clean and tidy worker, which we really did appreciate.

The cupboards and drawers are lovely, beautifully made and have changed our bedroom out of all recognition.

Hi Mark,

Mark designed and built a new airing cupboard for the bathroom after I'd got a new boiler. He also sorted out the bathroom floor ready for vinyl tiles to go down. I'm very happy with the work he's done for me. Mark listened to me and has created exactly what I wanted with a minimum of supervision. He is a tidy worker and I felt happy to trust him with a key to my house while I was at work for the day. His service has been prompt and helpful, his prices reasonable and it's been really handy being able to correspond by email. I'll certainly use Mark for any joinery work I have in the future.
